How do I learn
This Thursday in class we talked about how students learn. We focused on strategies, motivation, and multiple intellegences. Some of the strategies I use to learn is simply by paying attention and listening allows me to attain new information. The second way is by writing what I hear, taking notes allows me to have them to look back at. Sometimes when I need to really know material for a test or something I write it several times and read over it several times (repeition). When it comes to motivation and learning I know that I am more motivated to learn about things that interest me of course. Also motivation through extrinsic factors such as a good grade in a class can influence me to try harder. Intrinsic motivation would be things like wanting to learn so I can help children be successful because it makes me happy. Last is multiple intellengences, although i am intrapersonal all the other intellegences were high. I like to learn different ways especially hands on but apparently i like to be alone. But really, when it comes to learning i do it better on my own because its at my own pace and i dont have to explain anything to anyone. When i find myself in need of help im pretty resourceful and good at finding answeres.

I totally agree with the intrinsic motivation. I think that as future teachers, we should focus on ways to get kids motivated in this way because it will help them throughout their academic and personal lives.
ReplyDeleteOk now I didn’t put this in my blog, but I totally should have, I also feel that one motivation that I have is to get to that point where when I do become a teacher I can help each student of mine succeed. I want to see that face on a student when they have been working so hard on a problem and that moment when ahhh... they figure the problem out. I believe that’s something that motivates me to keep learning.
