How do I learn

This Thursday in class we talked about how students learn. We focused on strategies, motivation, and multiple intellegences. Some of the strategies I use to learn is simply by paying attention and listening allows me to attain new information. The second way is by writing what I hear, taking notes allows me to have them to look back at. Sometimes when I need to really know material for a test or something I write it several times and read over it several times (repeition). When it comes to motivation and learning I know that I am more motivated to learn about things that interest me of course. Also motivation through extrinsic factors such as a good grade in a class can influence me to try harder. Intrinsic motivation would be things like wanting to learn so I can help children be successful because it makes me happy. Last is multiple intellengences, although i am intrapersonal all the other intellegences were high. I like to learn different ways especially hands on but apparently i like to be alone. But really, when it comes to learning i do it better on my own because its at my own pace and i dont have to explain anything to anyone. When i find myself in need of help im pretty resourceful and good at finding answeres.
So thats me as a learner!

  1. I totally agree with the intrinsic motivation. I think that as future teachers, we should focus on ways to get kids motivated in this way because it will help them throughout their academic and personal lives.

  2. Ok now I didn’t put this in my blog, but I totally should have, I also feel that one motivation that I have is to get to that point where when I do become a teacher I can help each student of mine succeed. I want to see that face on a student when they have been working so hard on a problem and that moment when ahhh... they figure the problem out. I believe that’s something that motivates me to keep learning.
