STAR TREK

So I had never watched star trek in my life... i always tried to avoid. But then i had to watch it for class. We watched the episode about Darmok in class and strangely it had to do Language arts! Goes to show that anything can be applied or used in the classroom.

I don't think that the sacrifice Captain Dathon made was not worth it. I think that if he tried hard enough they wouldn't of had to perform the story Darmok and Gilad at tenagra... in other words go down to planet El Adrell. Somehow if they had taken the time they could of sat there and eventually understand each other. No need to die.. hell i wouldn't risk it!

I think that Captain Picard learned that he shouldn't make hasty assumptions. He should take time before he makes decisions. This goes for all the crew on his ship. They shouldn't of shot at anything if there was nothing really going on. We should all take the time to wait and be observant in order to make good decisions.

  1. It's so hard to say "yes it's okay that this person died" right? I mean, certainly it is great that everybody plays nice in the end, but um... perhaps an object lesson is less necessary?

  2. Your funny. I can see your point about Captain Dathon not having to die but then the show wouldn't be exciting. It's just like when you watch scary movies and the person goes alone into the dark room...we all know that it's a stupid move but then there wouldn't much to the movie if there wasn't unnessary risks. It was cool how the episode applied to ELA.
